Let The Countdown Begin

Brrrr it’s been a cold winter so far this year! We’ve had below-average temperatures here in Western North Carolina this month, with our first good snow in several years. And lots of snow in the Deep South and the panhandle of Florida… who knew!?! It makes us all dream about the warmth of summer and the fun we have here at Keystone Camp. Who’s ready for Sliding Rock, lizarding on the Green, and ice cream treats? We sure are! As we look forward to our 109th summer (which kicks off in just 130 days from now), we wanted to take a trip down memory lane with our session videos from last summer. Enjoy the walk with us, and let us know what your favorite memories are. We can’t wait to make even more in 2025!

Our June, Key White, and June Mini sessions kicked off the summer strong. We laughed our way through dancing in the rain on the tennis courts, learned new skills in every activity, and celebrated the first use of our new campfire! We presented 68 campers with their 3rd-year pennants and 38 campers with their 5-year blankets. And, we awarded three campers with their Silver KC! We closed the session out with a fun-filled Team Games Day and an amazing Moana-themed final banquet thrown by the Aides.

With the July and Mini I sessions came our Fourth of July celebration, complete with an epic fireworks show masterfully produced by our maintenance team. With Mini II came Keystone Camp’s birthday and our signature Christmas in July. We squared danced with the guys at Camp High Rocks, and adventured on trips throughout the area. Across all three sessions, we presented 28 campers with their 3rd-year pennants and 15 campers with their 5-year blankets. We awarded five campers with their Silver KC! And, the Aides threw a fabulous High School Musical-themed banquet to wrap up the month.

Our August campers hit the ground running, diving right into learning new skills in their activities, making new friends, and getting as many runs in as possible at Sliding Rock. Our Key campers lived their best lives while experiencing sleepaway camp for the first time! We presented 21 campers with their 3rd-year pennants and 9 campers with their 5-year blanket. And the Aides threw a spectacular Taylor Swift Eras tour-themed banquet, which was a perfect way to wrap up the summer!
