Eleanor Mathews

Nursing Director

Eleanor’s Keystone story began when she spent several summers as a camper from Jacksonville, Florida. She spent many years as one of our staff nurses before taking on the director role. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Jacksonville University, she spent time working in cardiology, nursing informatics, and the emergency room. But, she’ll tell you her favorite nursing job is at camp! She’ll also tell you her two favorites summers growing up were the summer she spent seven weeks at Keystone and her summer semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in Kenya. Eleanor and her husband John reside in Hendersonville, where she currently homeschools her two children and serves as a leader in American Heritage Girls. She is also a member of the Alliance for Camp Health.
